WHAT IS LIFE

 Life is a characteristic that distinguishes physical entities that have biological processes, such as signaling and self-sustaining processes, from those that do not, either because such functions have ceased (death), or because they never had such functions and are classified as inanimate. Life is characterized by the presence of complex organic molecules, such as nucleic acids, proteins, carbohydrates, and lipids, and the ability to maintain and reproduce these molecules through metabolic processes. Life is also characterized by growth, adaptation to changing environments, and the capacity for self-regulation and response to stimuli. The definition of life can vary depending on the context, such as scientific, philosophical, or religious.
